A house is defined by the various needs of its inhabitants, which is why having separate, pre-defined modules and the possibility to choose them based on one’s needs is a smart solution. The kitchen, the bedroom, the communal and storage area, and the bathroom are all individual modules. The client can choose the type and number of modules, which can then be transported and combined to create the house on the location. This cabin was envisioned to use solar energy. A Trombe wall absorbs and stores the heat from the sunlight and releases it into the living area through air vents. The solar energy can also be used for cooking in the ‘solar kitchen’. The central comunal area is covered with a transparent polycarbonate roof, making it ideal to grow plants, just like in a greenhouse.
